I was just in Selfridges wandering around, admiring the beauty stands as you do, taking everything in like I’m in paradise. Then, I came across the NYX stand and was straight in there, swatching as many products as possible, and came away with quite a few! I rediscovered some favourites, but there were four particular lip shades that really stood out to me from the Soft Matte Lip Collection. You can shop the range here

The formulas of the lip creams are extremely creamy, as they say, whilst drying matte quite quickly. I find that certain shades can fade throughout the day, but all you need to do is top up, you really can’t go wrong for just £5.50!

If you’re a lover of the brown lip trend going on right now, like me, then the shade Abu Dhabi would be just for you. It’s a nude brown, which I find the right shade to suit many from light/medium skin tones to dark skin. It’s very pigmented and goes perfectly with any nude to brown lip liners. My favourites are MAC’s Boldly Bare or Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat in Iconic Nude.
For those of you that love a more order generic amoxil girly pink lip, then Istanbulwould be your choice. It’s a true mid-toned pink that gives such a natural finish to any look. Although it’s formula and function is matte, it looks gorgeous with a clear or pink gloss over the top. Also it’s a great dupe for MAC’s Please Me.
My, my, did NYX make me love a red lip? Yes they did. Monte Carlo is my favourite shade from the range. A true red that’s a little darker than most, which I find very flattering and a lot easier to wear. For some reason this is also a lot longer lasting than most without needing touch ups!
Last but not least is Copenhagen, a gorgeous deep wine/purple that flatters all skin tones. Don’t find the swatch intimidating, as it honestly looks so beautiful on. This lip cream has dared me into wearing darker lips, so if you need that push then I recommend you try it to.

L-R: Abu Dhabi, Istanbul, Monte Carlo, Copenhagen
