Yes, as you might have guessed, I went shopping. When there are new beauty bits in the drugstore that I haven’t tried before then I like to indulge a little bit. This time around I only picked up face and lip products, but there’s always a next time to find some new drugstore shadows. Want to know what I picked up? Let’s get into it!
If you’re looking for an all in one palette, with a bronzer, blush and highlight the Tanya Burr Rosy Flush Cheek Palette
is what you need. Funnily enough, I don’t own anything quite like this that contains it all. Due to its compact size and contents, I find this to be the perfect palette to travel with. All 3 products inside contain subtle shimmer, which looks gorgeous in the seasons ahead. I find the bronzer very flattering to add on top of contour to for any of those who like heavier makeup.
I’m all for primers, and usually tend to stick with matte formulas. However, the Lumi Magique Primer from L’Oreal
changed it up for me. It’s light reflecting particles help brighten the skin and illuminate those areas we all tend to pack on the highlight to. You can use it as a base, with most foundations, and also alone. This is one of my favourite products I picked up as I don’t own anything like it.
An alternative for those who do like to stick with matte skin and tackle oily problem areas, get doxycycline
then the Collection Pore Minimiser Primer
is for you. It’s powered by Witch Hazel that helps to keep the skin clear of blemishes, as well as mattifying and pore minimising in the process. It’s perfect for long-lasting makeup.
I have a thing for baked blushes, so I couldn’t resist but to try the NYX Baked Blush in Foreplay. Its peachy golden tones were shining at me from across the store, I swear. The subtle shimmer highlights through the product translate onto the skin for a beautiful natural flushed glow. Now I’ve tried one, I want them all!
For lips of course I went for matte formulas. I picked up two more of the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in London and Cannes. Oh god, they are so beautiful. I wrote a post previously on my favourites, and these would definitely be in there. London is the perfect brown nude and Cannes is a soft mauve pink. If you are looking for a drugstore steal then the MUA Luxe Velvet Lip Lacquers
are in your favour. The formula of these is incredible for just £3, as they are super long lasting and never dry your lips out too much. I got the shades Tranquillity and Reckless, a soft peach nude and a bright red.
