I may have a lot of lipsticks but there is always room for more. When I was gifted this set from Jouer I was of course over the moon, who wouldn’t be? They’re so beautiful. Since using them and testing them out I’ve been absolutely loving them, so what best than to share them with you. All 3 shades have been really exciting me.
The most wearable shade and my favourite of the matte’s I’ve tried from Jouer is Winter Rose. This is a beautiful warm rose pink, a little girly but very sophisticated. I love this for everyday, as its matte but very soft on the lips. Jouer have got the formula down to a T, its creamy and lightweight and doesn’t crack at all. It’s also very comfortable and easy to pair with many lip liner, my favourite being Natural from NYX or Kylie’s Koko K.
The metallic lip is quite new to me and one is a trend I never thought I’d feel comfortable in, but this shade proved me very wrong. It’s Cranberry, a gorgeous warm metallic red that’s very versatile. You can wear this on its own as its pigmented enough, even with one swipe. Or, this is gorgeous buy isotretinoin 10mg over the top of a mid to dark toned red lip. I adore this over the top of NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams in Monte Carlo or Copenhagen as the softness of the formulas work wonders together. This is a shade perfect for the holidays as well as the Summer.
For the more daring lipstick wearers, we have Clove, a metallic brown. This is more on the darker side of brown with purple flecks throughout it, a gorgeous shade for night-time glam. This shade isn’t as pigmented as Cranberry so it’s better to apply two layers. I find this shade a lot more wearable for the Fall/Winter months.
The metallic formula is quite interesting; they don’t dry matte but also don’t budge much. They sit comfortably on the lips and don’t smudge, and also give an even colour all over. I’ll definitely be trying more of these metallic lipsticks, and have my eye on the Jouer Lip Toppers to.
This set was part of the 2016 Holiday Collection, but similar shades and finishes are available on Cult Beauty.
