sensitive skin solutions

Skincare issues were never really an issue for me until my late teens/early 20’s, and when things do start to happen it can be quite daunting. I’ve always had oily/combination skin on my face and with my body being pretty similar, but I never really suffered with dehydrated or sensitive areas, until now. The past few years I’ve noticed a few dry areas around my body, nothing major but they do get annoying. There are a few tricks for dry areas, which are obvious things like moisturisers and staying hydrated, but The Body Shop recently launched a range of body care products for sensitive skin, and I really need to share it with you all.

They recently launched the new Almond Milk & Honey range* for sensitive and dry skin and I am in love. Although the range specifies for ‘sensitive and dry’ skin, this works for other skin types such as normal, combination and oily, purely as its body care and won’t effect your face. I say this, as each product is super hydrating, and who doesn’t love hydrated and well nourished skin? All skin types need it. Also, the combination of almond milk and honey is absolutely incredible, its so fresh and nutty I love it.

Since the winter is over and this product range is in my life, I haven’t had any problems. I usually get the sensitive/dry areas on the backs of my arms and lower legs and it’s starting to clear up – hurray! The two products for your whole body, which I think have really helped is the Soothing & Caring Shower buy amoxil no rx Cream and Soothing & Restoring Body Butter. I find the shower cream super hydrating even in the bath, and after the body butter locks in and adds even more hydration and moisture. The body butters seem to be creamier than they used to be, which helps them sink in and are easier to spread.

If you suffer with dry hands, I know I have throughout winter, the Calming & Protecting Hand Cream will be your saviour. I’ve always had a thing for The Body Shop hand creams, and this is my favourite scent yet. Its just like the rest of the range, nutty and fresh, and the scent doesn’t vanish for hours. It locks in moisture and replenishes dry skin in an instant. I love that the formula isn’t at all sticky as it means you’re good to go after application, and you only need a pea size amount.

Soaps are a thing I don’t tend to use very often, as I’m more of a shower gel girl, but I’ve really enjoyed the Soothing & Caring Cleansing Bar from the new range. Unlike other soaps I’ve tried, it doesn’t dry out your skin or leave residue. It does the same job as the shower cream, but is of course in a bar. So depending on what form you prefer to wash with, they both work just the same and are equally as hydrating and nourishing to help the problem areas.

The range is now available in stores and online at The Body Shop, from just £4.

Have you got any quick fix products for problem areas?
