With each season comes a new essential to everyone’s wardrobe. When winter passes by slowly but surely, many hope and dream of the warmer sunny days. Many long for that feeling of warm breeze running over their face as they count down the days until their summer break. I don’t blame them.
I’m a summer lover through and through and nothing can beat that heartwarming feeling of packing for a summer trip. Packing a bag full of things to wear on the beach or lounge around a pool is quite satisfying and very rewarding.
Today, we are talking about the latest launch from Protest for their SS20 collection.
Protest is a sportswear brand founded in Holland in 1993. They focus on well-designed sportswear for those who enjoy the slopes and the water. Since the launch date, their goal is to be accessible to everyone, no matter your preference. They aim to be comfortable, functionable, affordable and look good – 3 factors I think they’ve nailed.
They have released a new swimwear collection that I’m very excited to share with you.
Their swimwear is all PFC-free, in an effort to reduce the chemical that can seriously harm the environment. PFC chemicals are used mainly in outdoor wear, such as swimwear, and removing this harmful chemical is an incredible step towards helping the environment. Understanding environmental issues as a fashion brand is so important and a key start to reducing the impact clothing can have on the environment.
Another question – why talk about swimwear in such depth you might ask? Seeing as it’s such a big part of my wardrobe (or should I say backpack) right now, it’s only right to share what swimwear is actually worth discussing.
Setting off on a year long trip to Southeast Asia and Australia meant that packing light clothes for the hot climate was a must. It felt strange leaving behind all of my chunky knits and long trousers. Strange but extremely satisfying.
I adore my summer wardrobe and picking my new favourites each year. Packing for a long road of travels meant packing a lot of things to keep me cool, mainly swimwear. It’s been 6 months and my knowledge on good swimwear that’ll last seems pretty good I must admit, it’s all lasted very well so far.
Good swimwear at a good price is somewhat hard to come by. The cheap swimwear we think is a good idea sometimes turns out to be a waste of time, money and effort. But, there are some brands who do affordable swimwear very well. And let’s be honest with ourselves, we love it when it happens.
Shopping for your summer holiday is without a doubt a very exciting occasion. Each new destination brings a few new items to the holiday outfit wardrobe, and swimwear is my favourite to buy. Let’s face it, although it’s fun packing fancy evening wear that will look great against your fresh sun kissed skin, we spend most of our time in our swimwear.
Even if you’re not yet planning a summer break, there is almost always an opportunity to treat yourself to a new piece for your SS wardrobe. You can soak up the sun anywhere in the world. Don’t let anyone tell you any different. Europe has its extreme seasons and we have to let it be. Longing for summer can feel like watching paint dry so when it comes, grab it with both hands and get out your new, fresh and very patient SS pieces.
For those looking for a swimwear refresh Protest have launched their SS20 swimwear for both men and women.
Their new bikini launch is everything you look for in holiday swimwear. Think neutrals, tropical and everything in between. They have gorgeous matching sets that are the kind you can’t wait to get of your holiday case and wear around the pool or beach. There are single items or matching sets. My preference is a matching set, but the single pieces allow you to mix and match your options which are great value for money.
The bras for the bikinis come in various shapes and sizes depending on preference and bust size. All bras come with removable foam cups. I don’t know about you but I like having the option of being able to remove them, and knowing you can before the item arrives is a massive plus.
Like the bikinis, you can mix and match or buy sets for the tankinis and push up bikinis. It all depends on you! This new collection is all about making you feel comfortable and confident and these two items do just that. These also come in an even larger variety of brighter colours which are great confidence boosters and perfectly suited for holiday.
Also, for men or girlfriends looking to help out with the male SS pieces, Protest has a great new swim short collection. There are many colours and patterns to choose from so get prepared to be spoiled with choice here.
Protest’s swim shorts are that extra bit fancy and come with an inside key pocket, an ideal add-on that I’m sure you’ll all appreciate. The shorts also have back pockets and a half-elasticated waistband for extra support.
Men have it easy when it comes to swimwear shopping, let’s be real. The hardest part is choosing a preferred colour or pattern. Saying that, I did shop for my partners swim shorts once and found it a lot of fun!
Online shopping is very convenient if a trip comes around before you know it and also to get pieces you just wouldn’t find in the shops. Shop the SS20 Protest collection and more – here.
