Inspiration often sparks at the most random moments. You might be on a walk without your notepad to write ideas or be cooking your dinner. Yet, it often disappears when we need it most.
When you have inspiration, you might feel like you can do anything. Feeling inspired is freeing. It allows you to be creative and think with a clear mind.
When inspiration runs away, brain fog and fatigue creep in. This combination is confusing and frustrating. However, you can do five simple things to regain your inspiration.
Walking outside is one of the best things you can do for your mind. If you lack inspiration, feel frustrated, or feel brain fog looming, fresh air and a new environment can do many things.
Even 20 minutes is enough to spark inspiration and reignite your creativity. Try to put your phone away if you want to maximise the benefits of a walk to gain inspiration. A lack of distractions and being in your own thoughts will help you clear the block and calm your mind.
Reading new material is amazing for inspiration. It is one of the best self-care rituals of them all. Whether you are a writer or a beautician, new material can give you new ideas and ignite creativity.
Picking up a random book and reading a few pages might help you overcome your confusion and find purpose. It can be good to take your book to the park or wherever you walk. Reading and sparking inspiration from a new environment can increase motivation. Sitting among your usual surroundings might limit your ability and stop you from clearing your mind completely.
Trying something new and stepping outside your comfort zone is incredible for regaining inspiration. Of course, when we are stuck in the cycle of doing the same thing, it will limit our minds.
Even if the new hobby doesn’t work out, at least you tried. The concept of trying new things might terrify you, but don’t let it.
Brain fog often comes from a lack of sleep. If you slept well last night and still feel the brain fog, try taking a nap at some point. Those who aren’t sleeping well can try getting into bed early, shutting down their devices one hour before bed, and trying nighttime meditation. If a nap isn’t possible, sit with your eyes closed for 5 to 10 minutes.
You can feel reset and reinspired after a restful break.
Sometimes you need to break your routine to get inspired.
Following the same rituals every day can feel too repetitive for your mind. The mundane tasks might be the cause of your inspiration dip. Don’t be shy about switching up your routine. It might just reignite the spark that you are looking for.
