It’s that time of year where the kids are off school for the summer holidays and you are ready to renovate your home. There’s so much going on during the summer, but making your home look fantastic and ensuring that it’s upgraded and ready for winter time is always a great idea and there is never a better month to start than right now.
The bathroom should be a haven in your home, because this is the place that you wash, you spend time in and even somewhere that you relax. That means you need to have the right bathroom vanity, the right fixtures and fittings, and you need to ensure that you have enough storage in there so that your bathroom is a worthwhile space. If you want to make your bathroom a bit of a haven this summer, we got some of the ways that you can do that below.
Choose your products wisely. You don’t have to spend a fortune to be able to get some of the best products in your bathroom, and we’re not just talking about the sheet masks and the pampering scrubs that you can buy. We’re talking about a new toilet lid, new fixtures for your sinks and even a new showerhead that offers you more than one setting. Your bathroom should be somewhere you can relax, so investing in a good bath board so you can rest a drink and a book while you soak is always a fantastic idea. Bringing in an interior designer to help you with this is always a great plan, too.
Think about the colours. If you want your bathroom to be a haven but you still want to be able to see yourself in the reflection of your mirror, then you should stick to some lighter colours. However, that doesn’t mean you can’t introduce darker colours into your bathroom. Having one wall that’s a navy blue or an emerald green while you decorate the rest of the room and add lighter shades is always going to make your bathroom stand out and feel really comfortable and cozy.
Upgrade your windows. While you may still have frosted windows in your bathroom to stop peepers from looking in, upgrading your windows to ensure that you can make your bathroom light and breezy is a great way to help it to feel like a haven. If your bathroom is one that doesn’t allow for much natural light, then lighter colours and using mirrors and higher wattage light bulbs could really help to bounce the light into all corners of the room.
Give us a little nature. Your bathroom should be somewhere that you can feel calm and serene and that means bringing in some nature. You may not want giant leafy plants all over your bathroom, but florals are always a lovely way to be able to bring in something that helps add to feel more oxygenated. It also can remind you of being a spouse, so those leafy green plants may actually be a good idea in the end anyway.
